Morphy Auctions has some neat Oilzum items coming up Dec.6-8. I stopped in and took a look.

looks like some nice stuff. Like the bow-tie Gulf sign, M&S 80, and the big pegasus. This stuff is in excellent shape

That 3-D scenery thing with the oil cans pouring is awesome!!! Does it light up? I see a cord on top. What is it?

I really liked the display. I heard that there are only a few have survived. I bet the cars move if it were plugged in ?

This is a quote from Amistadi's Antique Advertising book about the 3D display.

"Rare 1939 Worlds Fair display, animated. The oil pouring from the early cans light up and appears to flow into the 1930's cars. The cars, trucks, and Race cars revolve on a track going in and out of the Oilzum Building. The track is motorized using rubber belts to make every vehicle appear to be moving. This rare unit is completely backlit and the only one known to exist. $50,000-$90,000"
-Amistadi

It will be interesting to see what the hammer down price with premiums will be on this piece. Very cool piece of petroliana!!!!

Someone had a video of it working. It lights up, the cars run back and forth, and the oil pours. It's very cool. Not sure if on one of the forums here or youtube. Gotta find it!

...VERY cool...but I wonder if the cans were replaced at some point...weird how the rest of the display is so well-preserved, but the cans are quite worn...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
