These are new to me...or maybe I have just passed them over in the past since I breeze over obvious fantasy items without much of a glance. Ebay item numbers 121027013813 and a much more "rare" curved one , item 321029431522 listed by a Florida "picker". Round Mobiloil porcelain signs with 2 holes at 12 and 6 o'clock that are a pure fantasy item. I must admit they did put some effort into aging the curved one, but they are both still POS signs with a computer generated date font. Just posting this for any newer Old Gas members so they won't bid on this junk. Darin

I didn't even look at his other stuff Jamie, but yes, it all looks like aged repro junk to me. I'm not 100% sure as I'm not a Texaco guy, but I don't think they ever made a black T Sky Chief pump plate originally and it looks like a convenient chip at the end of the date code. His completed auctions are all repro as well.....Must be good picken' in Florida! Heck, that could explain the aging process he uses. Dunks them in the ocean for a week or two and sells them as "rusted and chipped" signs!

You're right Darin. No Texaco pump plates (Fire-Chief, Sky-Chief, Diesel-Chief and Marine) have the black T's. The earliest dated PPP that I've found are dated 1940.

Did you notice that all the grommets are the same on everything he has for sale?
You might want to add these to the: Unmarked Reproduction and Fantasy Petro Photo Album
