Does anyone know if the Standard Red Crown pump plates that are repops have dates at the bottom Specifically lower left AD-54 and lower right IR-48. I have seen an awful lot of them lately that look just too clean. Thanks in advance for the help.

Even repo stuff can be dated and colors made to match the originals. A good friend back here was burned badly a couple years ago on a 'Super Shell" one piece globe. Seems a batch was made in England and brought over here. They were selling them as originals. According to my friend quite a number came over so anything is possible. He now owns a $500 reproduction that is worth maybe 80 bucks??

I can't remember the dates on the repros, but they are an old date like the originals. The repros I've seen say "reproduction" diagonally across the back, except for the ones that someone ground the reproduction off.
They might be making them without the repro mark on the back, I don't know.

Hey 41150, you might want to call some of the repo dealers (vic's, slama, webbers, gas pump heaven ) and ask if they carry this one plate , if you try emailing them some times it takes days to git an answer , good luck .

I did some checking with Vic's and the reproduction are all made with AD1954 lower left and IR 48 lower right. Theres one on ebay right now. I emailed the seller and they said its the real thing . Well looks like a repro to me. Take a look. Let me know what you guys think.

Id say from the smokin bids they have received, you have a 99.9 % chance of being right. Just like Dwaines doorpush, theres always someone swearing to its authenticity.
Alot of these guys think it is okay to play pyramid scheme with these repros that someone may have stuck them with.

I to fell for this... and my dad. They did make this sign with that date so don't throw out that it is a org. sign. The thing to do is ask him to take a picture of the grommets up close and see. Alot of these signs that are repo's that people try to pass off as org. usally have the grommetts missing. The org. grommets are flared on the back and not crimped.

Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.
