"1960'S or Earlier CLARK Gas & OiL ADVERTIZING SIGN"
The sign is in excellent condition for its age, but does have a bullet hole just above the "L" in Clark. It is approx. 6' in diameter and made of fiberglass or thick plastic.
I Remember the Clark gas stations all over the place when I was a kid. Now they're pretty sparse and far in between.
Anyone got a idea of value?? I checked ebay auctions and googled and I can't find this one anywhere.
ANY Help Would Be Appreciated

I already have an offer of $400, but can't find any info on it. Don't think there are many around because Clark usually destroyed most items with their logo on it. I do have both sides with the metal band to hold together.

Giant size items are extremely difficult to sell.
If you have an offer @ that price for just 1 side..Take that $400.

In general the market for Lexan signs, especially the 6ft versions is very small.

I have found mainly 2 groups who purchase them, the "big boys" who want to put complete lighted signs back up on original poles, and the "decorator" who is simply looking for the feel or ambiance without paying for the metal version which is substantially more.

The former group are willing to pay $300-2000 for complete/near-complete signs w/poles, while the latter limit their spending to $200 or less(usually much less) for simply one panel.

I'm a little confused...its on Craigslist for $295.00. Same pictures posted here and you've been offered $400.00 for it?

Kinda of a no brainer...take the $400.00. You've been offered $400.00 for a $295.00 sign; that in my opinion (and others) is worth much less.

It's $395 but there are no comparables. Anyone ever see another one out there for sale? I remember lots of Clark stations all around the midwest with these signs and now since they went with the new design logo-none of these old round style 6' signs around either on ebay auctions or Google. You'd think there would be a ton of them ... IF there's not many around, maybe I'll just hang it on the side of the barn.

Unless you find a collector with lots of indoor space to protect it from the sun, it will fade, get brittle and break. Most collectors find little to no value in these signs unless they need to cover a large are for minimal cost.

You need to correct the text in you craig's list ad. I cut this from the ad:

I want $295 and am pretty firm! But willing to trade for signs, antiques, guns ??????

IF AD IS STILL UP, ITS STILL FOR SALE.!!
