Hi everyone. This is my first time here. I have a Wayne 605 gas pump that I would like to rebuild. I have two questions.

1) Are the frame and body pieces on a 605 the same as a 505 pump so that they can be interchanged? In pictures I have of both pumps they look extremely similar to me.

2) As I have read from previous posts the lower door/panel seems to be an issue as several people have been looking for them. I seem to be no different. I have one that is in great condition and the other one is missing. Anybody know where I can find one?

Thanks you all

Jim

I have a couple but I don't remember condition. These are a common pump and your best bet would be to try and find one that is fairly close to you, to save on shipping. It would cost a lot to send one of these panels that far.
Also there are 2 different types that I know of, and it involves the size of the retaining pegs at the bottom. The door slides over these 2 pegs and 2 levers hold them at the top. I have found that there are 2 different sizes of retaining pegs at the bottom and you would want to get the correct size. Good luck!

I can check tomorrow. I have been totally unable to find another pump anywhere. I do live several hours outside Tulsa and its hard to find much of anything. Exhaustive internet searches have been unsuccessful. I am willing to cover shipping. I will check my other panel to see what is there and maybe we can go from there?

The retaining pins are very different in size, so if you measure one of them (diameter)--I should be able to tell.
Like I said, very common pump and with a little patience, you should be able to find one in your area. Have you tried Ebay? Go to COLLECTIBLES>>ADVERTISING>>GAS & OIL
and then punch in "WAYNE"
I've seen a lot of 505--605 parts on there!

Yes. Bought the pump in July. Have searched the internet and E bay almost every day since then. No luck so far. Will try your search idea. Will also check what the retaining pins tomorrow and let you know.

Thanks for your assistance

Jim

Jim,
Like Kevin said, they're out there. One sold here at auction last week for $90. You may need to beat the bushes a little but one will turn up..

I've got a couple nice 605 doors, but shipping would be very costly.

Would UPS really be that much? I had a traffic light delivered here from Seattle for $45.

What would you want for them?

Jim
