maybe this is a silly question, but ive been wondering..is it possible to identify what brand a pump may have been used for by the holes in the doors?i know some may have been several different brands, and this may not be possible.i have a few pumps that have only 4-6 holes and wonder if a certain pattern would identify a certain sign. thanks in advance mick

Not silly at all Mick...the Texaco 12" x 18" pump signs (firechief, skychief, diesel chief, etc) are generally recognizable by there hole pattern. Also, the 5 point Mobil shields also make a distinc pattern.

SILLY???? HAHAHAHAHAHA...... Just kidding... I'll be good now. Mick, you might be able to make out what was on the door, by looking at the paint. Sometimes the decals were painted over, sometimses they were peeled off, and left enough behind to tell a story. If it has not been stripped yet, be sure to look at it from different angles, and with different light. Its worked a few times for me in the past. Good luck.

Make a drawing of the holes & post it. Also tell us what colors you found on the pump. db H.T.H. ------------------ **PUT A LID ON IT** FREE DENT REMOVAL W/ 1 qt Re-lidding
