Just was listing many items on ebay this evening when much to my surprise it would not take one of them and the pop up said. We want to make sure that you are making all the money you can and we want to help you with this. I had to call and here after 47 minutes on the phone that I had a sales limit and would have to call back on Monday to have it explained and raised so that I could ad more listings. ??? What the heck is going on here now I have someone telling me after 15 years on that site that they can do tell me how much I can sell??

I havent sold anything in a while on eBay, but a friend warned me about similar problems and changes at eBay. Totally catering to the buyer. He had $1500 in eBay sales frozen in his PayPal account for about 10 days because someone complained that his shipping charge was too high. His summary is that they are trying to make it a hassle for all the little guys and cater to their huge volume sellers? I know there are definitely more hoops to jump through to give them an ever increasing share of my money.....

Time for ALL to start using Another Selling Venue. ebay & PayPal should never be linked together, either one controls the other.
Their Greed will be their END, Eventually.

,and people are still asking me, almost daily, why I don't sell on ebay anymore and why I don't accept paypal.
I need to start responding, because I can't afford to use either of them.

I have been selling on ebay for a long time and honestly I hope to never to do it again, same goes with paypal they hold whatever money they want to just because they want to. Money orders and personal checks are the way to go. Been doing a lot of selling on Craigslist list, lot more work but a lot less of a hassle.

Now a days, I only buy on e-Bay. I only tolerate e-Bay because there is no other alternative.

I think PayPal is another example of a company that started out with a good business plan and due to the astronomical growth of the business has now became an inhuman monster that has too many people making too many rules. We started using them in the mail order/Internet side of our business a couple of years ago because we had so many customers request it. When we signed on, we asked about the Paymelater feature to allow customers to buy our products on time, which we don't offer in house. They told us that we didn't qualify for it because we we're under a required sales figure that was out in space somewhere, like $5 million a year or something. Anyway, we let it slide and more or less forgot about it. About a month ago a rep called and wanted to know why we weren't using Paymelater......?? He said he had never heard of such a restriction and that we were encouraged to use the program to drive our sales! For what it's worth, all of the credit card companies and major banks are getting this way. We have used Retriever as our main cc processor for almost 25 years and they have evolved the same way. Nobody knows anything and every salesman tells you something different..the sad thing is, these companies control our livelihood and you just have to do your best to deal with them ....or quit. If you are only using Ebay in a hobby situation you can go another route. But a lot of people make their living with these companies and its a darn shame that they have became so hard to do business with.....But, there aren't any full service gas stations that have gas for 25 cents a gallon anymore either......but we still buy gas. Just sayin.....Gary

Talked to one of the people this morning who informed me it was in my best interest and ebays to regulate how much as seller can sell according to them. They had me at 100 auctions a month with a not to exceed $43,000.00. They thinking is that if a seller is selling to much or goes over his limit then he may not be able to handle all that goes with that. He immediately raised me to a much higher level with the thinking that everything was ok with my feedback and I had no problems. I could not believe it and told him that now ebay has a undercover unit much like Germany did.
He laughed but had no reason for me on the why sellers can no longer give neg feedback for non paying bidders. Only to say there were ways to block them and not have to pay my fees for the auction. No answer either for how about the next guy who doesn't get paid. They said that they watch that.
Unbelievable.

The thing I don't get is why they would want to limit anyone's auction volume, period. Isn't that how they make money? From a pure business standpoint you would want a customer to use your service as much as possible or at least that's my view. Strange outfit....

They limit the amount because some people cant handle it and they dont want unhappy customers. Ebay is for the buyer period....they dont give a ...... About the small or BIG sellers.
