Some people spell things the way they pronounce them, lol! I have a habit of correcting people who pronounce Mobil that way. I can just here some hillbilly "talkin 'bout that thar Mobile pump o'er in the corner of tha livin' room. Ain't it purdy!" Hope I didn't offend of our Southern brethren! Darin

Darin, in my family we pronounce the other mobil aka mobile, mo bee lay. As in the giant mobeelay hanging in the East Wing of the national gallery (you know, them hanging things usually seen in a nursery). http://www.nga.gov/collection/calderinfo.shtmHere in S. MD most pronounce the second version mo-bile. "Granny sure is mo-bile since she discovered hot-pepper sauce!" Someone restored that pump with pride no doubt, even if they can't spell Mobil...
