I just listed for great quart oil cans on eBay this morning. They are starting at $9.99. These include a great Spinner can, a Champlin, a United D-300 and a Gulfpride. If you have any questions about these, please feel free to ask. I literally just got these yesterday, but I have my eye on a couple of other items that I would rather have right now. Hope you had a great New Year's!!

Any idea of the age of the Champlin? I was asked but don't know.

Ok thanks!! I'm having a hard time parting with the Champlin. They are all cool but that one just speaks to me.

FWIW, I have two sources, one says '45 the other '48. Both look to match your can from what I can see.

That can was used from the early to mid 30's up until the early 50's when Champlin was sold to the Chicago Corporation, and the striped style of cans were produced. There was also a slight name change from "Champlin Refining Co" to "Champlin Oil & Refining Co" how ever it should be noted that #9 can still has the original name of "Champlin Refining Co" so they must of been in the process of changing cans styles before the sale.
"Champlin Refining Co" and
"Champlin oil & Refining Co"
