Not as many gas pumps as Iowa Gas or Peotone, but it usually has a nice selection of everything else, including cans. A nice mid-winter event for collectors. Yes, it is a few extra bucks for Friday, but it is a nice short vacation, in the middle of winter, and a good show. I'll be the one in the "bibs". (Last year I sent my friend to get a couple of items and two different people said "Oh, you're with the guy in the "bibs" ".) We had a good laugh and I figured I'd run with it.

The show is almost all inside. They bring the people in by rows to set up and there is always a lot of people watching the dealers unload to see what they have and to get first chance as it comes off the truck/ trailer. It is an Oil Can Show Feeding frenzy! A lot of good stuff gets scooped up before the stuff even is all set up for display. It is a perfect example of if you snooze you loose. How is the show done I was under the impression that it was all inside, but i see comments where people are saying look for certain trucks? Do you drive in and set up the drive out? Is this place locked up at night or does everyone pack up Friday night and unpack again on Saturday? It says set up time is at 10 Friday, what time should I be there. No real need to get there days before the doors open. There will be guys outside with stuff to sell before the it starts. Building is secured at night so you can leave your set up.

Each row gets about 30 minutes to unload before the next row is let in. Set up usually complete by 1:00 with a few straglers comming in throughout the day. As stated there will be some things for sale outside in trucks or on trailers but the show is primarily an inside show. Just checked the long range forecast and it looks like temps in the low 30s with a chance of some very light snow. Shouldn't be a problem. Bill Fortune

It appears that "It's a Gas" will be well attended this year. It seems that there will be several new faces. My son and I will anchoring the east wall next to Greg and Tom. I will have 3-4 quality signs, several entry level signs and several "display" pieces. A few months ago I bought a small collection of automobile/petroleum related counter displays, cabinets, racks, posters, banners, first aid kits, etc. I will be bringing some of the excess items that I'm not putting into my collection. Collect small Oklahoma Oil Co.'s 1920's-1940's. Barnsdall, Cushing, Eason, Marland, etc.
