I need the help of you veteran gasser's. What type of island oil cabinets used an add glass? The size of the ad glass is 7-7/8" x 14-5/8". Reverse paint is red and white. It says "Let Us Check Your Oil for Safety". Thanks in advance.

I believe that was mobil, The side view of the cabinet looked like an A pattern or shape and doors on each side. I think, could be wrong.

I have identified about five companies that made oil can cabinets.
Bennett Pump Co. and Modern Metals (Seloil) were the major two.

Page 69 of my Gas Pump Book to see the Bennett versions. The 156 had a sign at the top, the 256 had a lighted glass panel at the top. Bennett made up some very nice brochures showing about 15 different oil company's oil can in these racks. See the literature section of my website for all of them.

Modern made about five models of cabinets. The model number was the number of can the cabinet held. No lights on these. These are shown on page 212 of the Gas Pump ID book.

Get a catalogue from one of the repro parts suppliers. Check the ad glass sizes to see what PUMPS they fit. Some oil can racks were made from a gutted pump body, with racks installed in place of the pump unit. I remember the Tok 39A body being used in this manner, thogh I dont have my book handy, nor do I remember any of the specs.

That is the Seloil one, I have one restored in Cities Service. Had it for sale last summer , still own it. Believe it's the most common one.

Does anybody make parts for the model 256?

Always looking for grizzly gasoline stuff, or any Montana gas and oil stuff.

Sorry, I have been in this hobby for around 30 years and I have never seen anyone advertising that they made parts.

This type of service station equipment falls into a category of a number of collectors finding an incomplete piece of equipment, then trying to find parts, and no one willing to part out the item they purchased. I see the same thing when it comes to odd ball air meters, everyone waiting for someone else to part their's out.

We make the lower access door and upper door for the 156, 256, and Seloil 25. I also have a local sign shop that can make the ad glass. The rubber that is being produced calls for the glass to be slightly larger though.

The ad glasses are as close to factory as possible. They were even able to re-create the shading under the dots. The decal is reversed to prevent damage too. I will have to check a price on doing them as its been a couple of years.

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Is anyone making the door for access to the oil waste container at the side of a Seloil display cabinet? Is there a knob and lock handle available for the upper door? Is there a diagram that shows the bracketry for the inside of the cabinet? Thanks Bob
