I have a question about a Sinclair globe. if it has the little circle with an R in it, does that mean it is reproduction or did the originals have this also. thanks

Well i was waiting for Bob to post but i will give you mine thoughts. I have never had a repop sinclair in my hands so i can't anwser that but i can say i have never seen a R with a circle around it on any originals. Some are marked with REG. U.S. PAT OFF marks on them. hope this helps.
Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

I believe that a R with a circle around it is the symbol used to denote that the image is "Registered" with the United States Patent office.

I agree with Jack... Gulf 12.5 globe uses a R with a cirle around it and it's an original globe. Send me a picture and i will post it for you.
I will say i looked at the globe books that were wrote by Scott Benjamin and Wayne Henderson and it says repops are dated. Any one thinking of collecting globes should own a set of these books.

The capco sinclair Dino and Dino Supreme used from 1961-70 do have an R with a circle on it, the repos are usually dated. Richard
