My uncle has a marina and I found a few old signs that have been sitting outside for a few years. One of them is a very large citgo sign in a metal frame with tube lights. It is about 7' x 7' and doesnt look like its in great condition but I havent cleaned it up yet. I have included a link to an ebay posting of the same kind of sign only it is much larger and is double sided with a metal frame. I'd like to know if this thing is worth cleaning up. Is there any value to it? Thanks. Frank http://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-Gas-Sta...=item3ccc016aef

My opinion is that Citgo is not very popular. Large size not good either. Someone may want it but condition is everything.

In the past ten years I have found that people have been collecting the light up plastic signs. The prices have been rising slowly as the porcelain signs have gotten more expensive. Still most are under $300. For some reason there is not much interest in the Citgo signs but there is someone out there that would want it. Maybe a restaurant for decor. The smaller light up signs are very popular and sell for good money.

Citgo signs are very popular to Red Sox fans. It has been a trademark symbol because of the huge blinking Citgo sign above Fenway Park. Although popular they don't bring any extra as most fans are cheap and just want one

Now if you had found an old Richfield, a round Texaco, Esso,or other more desireable brand, then yes it would be worth more. Not a big market for brands that are still available today. JMO, Brady
