Welcome. You will find a ton of info on here. Very cool pump. Nice find. I'll let the experts field the technical questions. I'll garauntee somebody can probably tell you the employee who made the pump, on what day, before or after lunch. LOL Well maybe not that much detail but it will be close. These veterans are the best!. Take care. Mike

Welcome to the sight. You are correct it is a Gilbarco 96 made around 1938. Keep a eye out for original add glass to match your Texaco globe and decal. The size should be 5" X 12 1/4". the hose would have been black and the nozzles where changed out all the time when they when bad. You can check Jack Sim's sight for the correct nozzle, he may even have one to sell. Richard

Welcome to Oldgas Roger and Brad. the add glass is the spot between top piece of chrome trim and top of pump. When lite up from inside it will read texaco. No pic but someone may have pic.

Reset handle for computer. Spun back to zero before purchase. Just like the automatic pumps do today.

It was called a sight nglass and was a method used by the pump companies to assure the customers that the pump was actually pumping fuel and not just air! LOL Some of the sight glass spinners were very attractive and entertaining!

Here's a 96 I had redone..... the ad glass on this one is not an original or a Texaco, but will kind of give you an idea how it will dress up the pump.... it also shows the crank you are missing.

Suggest you start by going to my website: www.petrocollect.comCheck out the literature I have for your pump, then check the nozzle (we don't call them handles) section. Jack Sim jhsim@petrocollect.com
