If it is a fake, I just got burned. If it is real, I just got a very sweet deal. I emailed, looked at all the photos, talked to someone with one, and talked to a few other collectors I have known for quite a while. I believe it is real. The seller in his correspondence seems very straight up. Any other input would be appreciated. I have bought and sold a WHOLE LOT of cans in my collecting career and this one looks ok. Any other input/comments/smart remarks welcome (haha).

This can has a strong history of selling in the price range of $1300-$1500 so it is a really good price as that goes. They are really uncommon (probably one, maybe two for sale per year) and condition on this one is great.

P.S. I emailed ebay and asked for verification to make sure original seller was still in control of account, etc, etc. I have had 2 recent experiences with fraud on ebay. I bid on the Life gasoline sign (the one that came up here as a copy of the original) only about a half hour after it was listed. When I learned it was a copy of the real listing, I withdrew my bid (first time ever for that). I also listed a Grapette Soda sign a couple months ago with a buy it now price of $380. It was purchased by an account that had been pirated by a scammer and they wanted to have the sign shipped the same day I received their official 'cashiers check'. It smelled fishy so I emailed ebay and they informed me that it was in fact a fraudulent transaction and they were in process of restoring the account to the real owner. This has left me a bit wary of both buying and selling on ebay.

Sorry for the confusion Mopar, the 2 experiences I was referring to involved seperate transactions, not the Skunk can. The can arrived yesterday...it is real and is super nice!!! The seller was excellent to work with and the transaction went down smooth. It has become alot harder to sort out the frauds and scams on ebay. Seems alot of collector buddies I keep in regular contact with have become more hesitant to bid...has made me leary also. This website is excellent for sniffing out fraud. I have learned some ways scammers work by reading about the tactics on here. Lets keep it going and keep each other from getting burned!!!
