A good idea would be to point out why it is fake along with the differences? Not everyone is an expert like Scott. Looks the seller has all old stuff for sale?

I saw that one myself and questioned it. The green is way too bright of green to start with. It should be a dark green almost to the black side. It also has a paint chip on one side that I have never seen an original baked globe chip like that. It does not have any of the Reg. Trade Marks on it at the bottom and the body did not seem right to me but maybe they did use some of the fatter bodies?? That was my observations on it there may be more.

You are correct first off the green is way too light/bright. Plus again Keith mentioned fired globes do not flake off like that. Letters and borders are off look at originals. Plus there are no rounded wide frame baked Sinclair globes they are all narrow frame except the Sinclair Oils baked but that's a wide frame, not rounded wide. A company in Tulsa made these years ago they make Sinclair Aircrafts just like this too-rounded wide frames colors and borders off...Scott B.

Thanks for pointing that out, Scott! Those of us that aren't as experienced as others, need this kind of information.

Good to know, so the chip and scratch gives it away.

Petroleum Artifacts used to make these. I believe that they had a decal that was fired onto globe in a kiln.

Looks like one made by Petroleum Artifacts of Tulsa. The graphics were a decal fired onto the globe in a kiln.

I'm sure many of you had seen the two sellers offering the 12" round porcelain signs as "Vintage". Oilzum, Red Crown, Conoco, Texaco Products, and several others they are all phony two these signs do not exist in porcelain this size as real. Many bids in the $200-$300 range I again contacted eBay and nothing yet we'll see. Unbelievable! Scott B.
