I found a couple of Wayne 80 pumps today. Just wondering what they are worth? Since I really don't know a lot about pumps, I thought I would ask for some guidance. The guts look to all be there in both. No globes. The lady wants $75 each.

Buy them! Make sure to ask her if she has any other gas stuff for sale. Might be some signs or something in their house or in that building.

Weekend road trip! Yep, you should go back in a pickup asap with $150, a bud with a strong back, a six pack and flowers and a smile. She may not want the six pack but, you know just in case.

They go all the time around here between 200-250 (sometimes more) at farm auctions easy. I pay 100-125 and use them as trading material...

Brent there is nothing wrong with finding something a getting a good deal but dont take %#$ advice and take advantage of her.Theres plenty of money to be made at the price theyre at.Especially now that you know what they are worth!

I really don't think negotiating on a price that someone else set is taking advantage of them. I consider bargaining and dickering to be the way business is done. Just paying a price without bargaining first just seems alien to me. I dunno, maybe I'm just not made of money.

Oh - no need to blot out my name - it's pretty obvious...

Someone offered me my current daily driver Oldsmobile for a song at $100. I offered 80, and we settled on 90. I don't see what the problem is...

A previous post stated that you should arm yourself with as much information when you go out to seek treasures. Have a sign book, Scott Benjimins books on globes, a book on cans, etc. If you had my book on Gas Pump identification and price guide, your answers woudld have been right in front of you.
I really don't understand the reluctance to purchase valuble information ahead of time.
When my wife and I go out to look for things, we take with us, a book on famous illustrators, a book on dolls, a book on caraval glass, a book on soda machines, a book on slot machines, and many more antique and value books as possible, and a book on antiques in gerneral.
Money spent on this type of information has made us a lot of money. While we don't acutally collect these items we try to famarilize ourselfs with as many thing as possible so if we do find something, we at least have a working knowledge of the item. We then purchase the item, assuming it is reasonably priced, and then resell it, hoping to making a profit, then invest the money in the items we collect, such as gas pump literature and air meters.
