I have a neon tube tester that I check signs with. It is possible the electrode has burned out or you have lost the neon gas. Either way you need to find someone in your area that does neon work and it is an easy fix for them.
Thanks, Phil _________________________________________________ Looking for any old pumps, or nice 5 gallon cans.

After plugging in, empty bladder on suspect area. IF it's a connection it'll make contact & start working!
IF it can't be fixed w/ a hammer &/or Beer, it ain't worth fixing.

It is a simple series circuit. Comes out one end of transformer snakes its way through all the letters and back into transformer. Unless you have a missing jumper wire on back or a bad connection from wire to housing or housing to tube (the spring contacting the base of the electrode) then you have a bad tube. If you really want to know for sure, take the suspected bad tube off and connect the two output leads of transformer directly to it. Highly likely the tube needs repaired.

Or....go to RadioShack, get some wire with alligator clips on the ends and make the connections to the transformer with the tube in place, huh? I would be wary of breaking the tube. It would be costly to replace with new glass wouldn't it? Maybe.......just chill and wait for the expect Jon!! Don't empty your bladder on it unless you want TWO shorts!!!

Its really affordable dave ive been quoted several repairs for less than 200 even if its the glass. Im gonna be buying neon alot in the future. I thought it was astronomical to get repairs ive passed on neon in the past based on the fear of repair. But no more.
