I picked up this mobilgas pump plate along with some other signs. I suspect it is repop. However it is dated,but it seems to good to be real. I did good with the lot of signs It would be better if this was legit. Thanks

It looks correct to me. I have never seen one with so much rust staining. If that doesn't come off while it may be in great shape otherwise, if it's permanently discolored it isn't worth nearly as much as a white one, at least in my opinion. It's too bad as I don't see a chip on it! Good luck with the cleaning. Darin

Looks like the real McCoy to me too and I've seen worse even staining than that on one too.

Looks real to me... Looks like it will clean... Try barkeeper friend. Always had good luck with. Sign looks in very very good condition, if it cleans up.... I think it will

I have tried some clr on a small area with no results. I will get some barkeepers friend and try it. Any other Ideas? Thanks to all for the replies.

Soft Scrub w/bleach (smear it on. let it sit overnight do it's job try a test spot first).
Toilet bowl cleaner (don't let that sit overnight).
Lacquer Thinner (not paint thinner).
Use 0000 steel wool lightly or a non abrasive scrub pad.
Always try a small test spot before making a full blown effort.

I went back into the archives and found the sugestion to use porcelain stove top cleaner and am going to get a bottle of it next time I go into town and try it on the back of the Dutch Boy sign.
