Watched Matthews Auction yesterday for a little while. Have signs gone up that much, WOW. Add 18% buyers premium on top of the cost of the sign, sure seems very expensive. I guess they just got caught up in the auction process.

Watched it awhile myself and some of the signs went a good bit higher than I thought they would. Some went for I what thought they would and there was one or two that I couldn't hit the bid button in time. There wasn't anything that I'm kicking myself over. Figure now I know how the online bidding works for when there might really be a piece that I want to go after.

CircaDesigns Looking for early AMOCO and SUNOCO items.

56Chevy ,

You are right about SIGN PRICES going up ...

Wow! the ones I can single out:

1- BEACON SECURITY GASOLINE (Lighthouse)
2- HARBOR PETROLEUM PRODUCTS

Even, the PowerLube sign brought BIG money ...

IMO, internet BIDDING increases the AUDIENCE and therefore, based on supply_and_demand prices go up.
It comes down to: how BAD someone wants that sign ...

The Beacon, Harbor and Power Lube signs did not sell yet. They will be auctioned off today. The current bids are all pre auction internet bids. One would think they will go higher yet...?

Watching the auction can't help to think how if you had some of the signs and tried to sell them at the price they got plus the 18% how anyone would buy them.

10% CASH OR CHECK IN HOUSE, 15% OTHER AND 18% INTERNET OR ABSENTEE.
So the thing to do is go to the auctions or know it's going to cost you to own it.
Dan and his crew have always been good to deal with for me.

Thanks
Mike

Always Looking for any Pure Oil and Sunoco Items.
