50K. Has to be a record price for a service station sign. The Harbor sign akso sild went for big $$$$$. I have seen some high prices for service station items over the years but nothing like this. What does it mean? I wonder.

I thought prices were representative of where the market is for rare signs in great condition.
I was visiting with an older, very reputable collector a few days ago regarding a sign value. I asked if a particular item was worth a certain amount. His response, "no but you will get it, if you choose to sell".
Collect small Oklahoma Oil Co.'s 1920's-1940's. Barnsdall, Cushing, Eason, Marland, etc.

Other than the handful of rare pieces in great condition that brought top dollar, it didn't seem like everything else was crazy high? Rarity and condition will always bring the big dollars, and the definition of those terms changes as time goes on.

Id rather own the $900 olds flange than the $5000 firestone flange if is saw them at a show for same price.
see me at Mason Dixon Gas, Spring Carlisle M114-115, and Hershey C4E-35.
