Hello OldGas,
I came across these weird pieces this weekend while picking up a Mobil sign. The gentleman that has them says that when he was a kid he remembers them being supposedly pump guards on each side of the pump island at a Standard Oil Station in town. He doesn't know anything about them and would like to know more. Where they pump guards to protect the pumps from cars hitting them or what? I personally have no idea what they are and have never seen anything like this before. Let me know your thoughts, thanks.

Measurements? Looks to me like Island ends, not much you can do to protect the pumps.

I do not have any measurements, but maybe they are island ends. Sounds fitting. Probably about 16 inches high and 32 by 32 inches wide and long.

Another thought is Protectors for the dividers/supports between Bay Doors. Very few Pump Islands are more than 6"/8" high.

Yes that is true. You bring up a good point, but then how where they anchored to the ground because those holes on the flat side are cut outs to get inside to bolt them to the ground?

Maybe it just slipped over a large round rod, no nut. Is the hole large enough to get your hand & wrench into?

Yes it is plenty large enough to put your hand and a wrench into. It has 3 spots for it to fit over a stud in the ground and then put a bolt on to it.
