Not sure on the husky but that's a prety cool Phillips sign he has listed, although rough and touched up.

Noah, when the Seller puts in his description "It has signs of wear and has been touched up in a couple places," That is a "hint" that the sign in question has been "altered"....
Plus, all one has to do is look at it somewhat closely and "touched up" areas leap out at one....

I didn't even read his description I was just looking at the pics. My monitor is set really bright and to me the touch up sections really jump out at you. Like they're not even a close match at all.

Matthews Auction sold one a couple of years ago. It was DSP and restored on one side. It sold for $600. This one is single sided tin so I have been wondering the same thing. Mitch

Thanks Mitch for the heads up.
Is this the only HUSKY sign done in "TIN"?
Thanks,
Henrik

...anyone else notice the irregular border on this sign?...Husky's not my area of expertise, but in my opinion, that sure looks like it was cut out of another sign...especially when you look at the picture of the back...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

I think the kids are pricing me out of this hobby. Final bid on the Husky sign $3449.99. Mitch Mitch, You mentioned " kids". IMO, these are " Deep Pocketed" folks that go out of their way to buy these hard_to_find signs for their garage decorations. Also, in 1940's, no one had access to CNC machines (laser cut). So, I assume the metal was hand cut.

Also, in 1940's, no one had access to CNC machines (laser cut). So, I assume the metal was hand cut. ...you're right that 1940's sign makers didn't have CNC machines (patents weren't even awarded for lasers until 1960)... ...but signmakers did have access to dies - hence the term 'die-cut'...
