We all know that Wayne 60's were made with and without globe holders and there were 2 different types of globe holders. I have one that I would like to put an art-deco globe holder onto but I think it would be a difficult process with a template to add the necessary holes. Has any of you ever bothered to make a template to facilitate this process? I have to believe that having the holes drilled off a little would make a mess of a perfectly good top??

I have done several. I make a new template each time because it may be cast different, from different distributors. Find the two centerlines using the center from the top two screw holes and the center of the front and back arch. I use a light file folder for a template material. The main problem is the large hole the globe holder has to fit into. I usually cut it first. If you get the two screw holes to large you can always use a washer for backing. The repop globe holders are smaller than the originals, don't expect them to fit tight against the arches. Richard

OK--Sounds easy enough? What does it look like when using a repop globe holder? I kind of get the drift that it doesn't look all that good?

It is much harder to find a original 60 globe holder than it is to cut a hole.
