It is a sad day here at Oldgas. After numerous phone calls with Jim over the past few days, he has decided to pull the plug on Oldgas.com
Jim started Oldgas on 07-25-2000 after deciding that it would be a good place for fellow collectors to gather together and share their common interest with one and another.
There are many reasons for the decision, hopefully Jim will chime in about the subject.

KZ1000 must be good friends with the American Pickers folks. Yes, I have sold Oldgas.com to American Pickers for 5 million dollars. They take over tomorrow. I'm taking all the money and opening another discussion forum, HollywoodRehab.com with a partner, Lindsay Lohan. I'm hoping that there will be less conflict and drama with the new format.

Wow....I was terror-struck for a moment, when reading Ryan's first sentence announcing the demise of "Old Gas". That momentary feeling made me understand how fortunate we are to have this wonderful forum that celebrates the passion many of us have for this super hobby. Wouldn't it be a shame if Old Gas WAS gone?
I believe I now have a new appreciation for the Jim's work, the site, and what it all means to me. So Ryan, thanks for the April Fool's Day wake-up call. Best, John
