I'm sure the reserve was set by the seller based on their "emotional attachment" to the show!

LOL laugh

If my feeble memory recalls correctly, da Pickers paid $450 for that sign and stated they would ask around $1,000 for it....so wonder what this guy's reserve is??

Wow, he's pretty knowledgeable, where in the world would you get info like that???

OK, folks ...

What would you be asking if it was your sign?

I see ...

Do you recall the 5-QT GILMORE can (my friend's) that I posted for a VALUE? Got numbers from some of you ...

But ... It closed at $2200 a year ago!

So, lesson learned:

1- Never ask for VALUE of an item
2- Let market decide what an item is worth.

So you know ...

I had the opportunity to buy the can for $500. This is before Dave decided to put it on eBay.

Dave decided to put it on eBay as no one showed interest (including myself)at the SWAP MEET. Dave has been listing everything on eBay since.

I do not think by his description that he will make what ever his reserve is. It may be rare but I looked at one last year in Georgia and passed at $700 it was worse condition but if you are paying high price don't you want better condition? I guess The word is want, pay thousands if you want it.

Values are subjective; at best. Everyone is going to come up with their "opinion" based on their experience and collecting preferences. They are also going to firmly believe they are correct and that everyone else is mistaken.

Henrik, you notice that Dave has been selling copies, for months now, of that Gilmore Washington Service Station on ebay?

Hope he didn't have a bunch of 'em made as I think the well of buyers has run dry. Might be sitting on the "overstock" for a long time. One could argue he's ruining the value/demand of the original by selling so many copies of it. Just sayin'.

I'm surprised to see anything that the "American Pickers" bought being sold! I will admit I like the show. We stopped in their "Nashville T-Shirt Shop" and were not impressed at all. We stood in line to go in a tiny store to buy a t-shirt. Most everything was NFS (not for sale).

The pickers all of them frank the semi hot chick and mike have their own multiple ebay user ids and sell most of there stuff on ebay. this is one of the 5 ids on ebay they use. god I hate that show. the fact it is called AMERICAN pickers and produced by a euro british production company makes my stomach turn.

Hey it's all subjective. Count me in the "Like 'em" crowd. Just don't like them on Facebook. I visited their Le Claire Iowa shop. Bought the T-shirt. All the stuff in the shop was for sale and was way overpriced. A 3rd stage butcher block Beatles LP for $2K for example. But AP are a great one hour show for light fluff. There is a Canadian equivalent for those who want want to see two versions. Like all TV, you need to see it with a jaded eye and you'll be fine.
