Just purchased this from the widow of a retired garage owner. She told me this had been in the building for as long as she could remember but didnt know anything about it. Her husband did alignments in the shop and had Bear accessories. At first glance I totally thought it was hand made by the shop owner or a local guy he paid to do it. It was cheap, I loved the look so it didnt matter. The more I looked at the self framed metal sign quality I began to wonder? Measures 6 ft long. The white stuff on back is just sticker residue. Any thoughts...?

IMO, the sign was painted by a local...

Actual Bear Alignment "Company signage" looks/looked quite different and was expensive...

A number of small Independent Alignment Shops in SW WA had "Bear Alignment" signs painted for their Businesses... I have tried for years to acquire such a sign from my "corner of SW WA" with no luck... LOL

Congrats on your acquisition!!!!!

Here is a link to a "site" that shows, "home-made" Bear signage for different Alignment Company's...

No....

I must admit, that I never considered. That a Major Corporation would authorize a "Sign Manufacturer" to make a sign that looked nothing like their Corporate Logo...

After seeing the link sure does look like Bob has hit the nail on the head. That was my initial thought anyway. But who knows...

I agree with Bob. The Bear graphics are horribly done. No company would allow their corporate logo to be so poorly replicated.

Your sign is much higher quality of production. Note uniformity of letters, spacing, etc. also, bears hand is on his knee -LOL.

I would agree with other that the OP sign is a local custom made sign and would say yours was a factory produced one. Just my opinion of course, still both cool old signs!

First question- How do you spell Alignment/Alinement ?
Second question -How do you spell Dynamic/Dy-namic?
The bear looks close , you were right about raising more questions.
Thanks for posting your sign. I've seen both bears in old photos , the refined one on later signs.
