My first pump restoration 95% completed.
I have another "Shell Gasoline" pump plate coming for the other side.
I need another "Super Shell" red plate, does anyone have an extra one in their inventory.
Thanks,

Thanks for the comments and kudos.

Can anyone tell me if this pump is supposed to have a rubber door gasket around the frame where it meets the door on close or is it just rubber stoppers. I have more of a gap than I would prefer. The hinges were a pain to adjust for closing and if anyone has a method for aligning and adjusting the hinges for a smooth tight fit I am all ears.
Thanks,
Brian

I can't see the gap in your picture. The pump looks nice, you did a good job on it.
If the hinges were bent- about the only way to fix them is to heat them up and straighten them. Use a good straight hinge as a guide.
The side panels are held onto the frame with bolts that have a very flat head. If you used a standard round head stove bolt the heads may be causing the gap. Use a truss head bolt (screw).
There was no rubber or bumpers that I recall.

No door seals. Rubber bumpers are not reproduced. The screws are special slotted screws that are flat. If you used pan head or round head screws that will prevent the doors from fully seating against the body.

These doors are usually bent by people trying to force the doors open by prying them open. Once bent they are very difficult to straighten due to the folded over edges.

The doors were not bent or damaged. Currently they stick out a bit more then preferred on the hinge side. Each door had eight rubber stoppers which of course were hardened. I did get more from a auto parts supply. I can live with the gap for awhile but will pull the hinges off in the future and do a little tune-up on them.
The door closes well on the opposite side of hinges and the locks engage fine. No bottoming out on the screws, and yes I did use round head for now.
I think my mistake was not numbering the hinges to where they came of during disassembly. Next pump that will be done.
I have another exact pump on line so I shouldn't make the same mistake on that one. It will be Shell Regular with the red "shell gasoline" plates.

At any rate thanks for the comments and kudos, coming from the pros I am feeling pretty good about how it came out.

I guess it is like that scratch on your car, the only one that notices it is you.

It shouldn't make any difference where the hinge was located before and after the restoration.
You did mount them inside the frame rails didn't you?
Also check that all the hinges are moving freely on the hinge pins. If one is binding a little that may cause it to not close all the way.
