Hi guys. The nylon rope they used is incredibly strong. More than adequate to lift that sign. I would guess the sign weighs around 800 pounds or so as it could be moved rather easily with 3 people. The tensile strength of the rope that was used is about 5,500 pounds. The guy running the bucket does tree work and uses the rope all the time on heavier stuff than the sign.

The camera guy was a hoot! His laugh and funny comments made the video, in my opinion. Everytime I watch it and listen to his comments, I start laughing. The guy, from my understanding, is a heavy equipment repairman and is actually pretty knowledgeable, but he's also a super funny guy, obviously!

The right type of rope much safer than a chain. I forget what we were trying to unstick, but I was the one driving the ford 8400 and we used a rope. My supervisor told me that the reason for the rope, is that if a chain snapped, people could be killed.
