About $350 to $400 in excellent condition. Is there a problem with the base on this one? It looks uneven like part of it is missing.

Go to the auction.
It will likely go too high to someone that does not realize how much the base damage takes off value..

If I was there and it was going for 100 or 110 I would sure grab it.

...hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like the base might be wrapped with that cloth tape the globe manufacturers sometimes used...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

I agree with gulfiend on this issue. I don't think it would be standing like it is if that much of the base were missing. Definitely worth a look in person.

The Shell globe was in very nice condition it was not broken. There was a leather or cloth wrap arount the base. Bidding started at $400 at sold for $475 + 10% buyers premium. Too rich for my blood.
