Must have been a record setter for that one. Super can though. 1500 to 2000 is a good day IMO

Ed, If my research is correct; Sinclair only used the Opaline Race Car Can design for a very short amount of time... Actual Sinclair Collectors probably have more accurate information than I.... But looking at advertising, I have found ads for the design for less than 2 years... A long time Collector that was friends with my Dad, claimed that Sinclair used the design for less than a year...
But, that info was given to us, long before the internet. The 'net has turned Collecting on "it's collective ear"... As items are now much more "common" because of the greater access to "Online Auctions, Ebay, Gas Shows, Oldgas, Pit Stop, websites... etc...
As you know better than most; with the research you do on your stations. Items and info that was "scarce as hen's teeth" even 15 years ago... Is abundant now...
Not so much with this can. And when one comes up for auction in good to very good condition, Hobbyists are "jumping all over them"....

Matthews sold one at Peotone this spring for $2500 plus premiums. Great old car on the can. They do show up from time to time so I would not call it a super rare can, just very desireable.

Your welcome, Ed...
But, I bet Wes has much more info on a Sinclair item, than I ever will...
(especially since I seem to be spending more and more time... "chasing my tail" looking for info on PNW Oil Company's... info, that guy's from SoCal seem to be able to find easily.... when I run into a brick wall)... LOL

Extremely early can with the SINCO emblem on the front of the car. Very desirable graphics and subject matter and very limited high quality survivors equals major interest and high $$$. They don't always achieve top dollar, but more times than not.

Condition is the greatest factor in pricing oil cans. I think it's wrong to have a lower condition or less advertised can determine the bottom end of the spectrum/spread in pricing.
A more balanced approach would be to consider cans of similar condition and then take the average price of those cans.
