Don't know if the American Pickers I just saw tonite " Duke of Oil" is a rerun but CHEERS to Thornton Beroth , one of my earliest friends when I started at a young age in this hobby yrs ago. Nicer man you could not meet. I think those American Picker boys met their match with Thornton. None of that low ball ***** they put out usually. They knew they had met their match +++ GOOD FOR HIM ! ( I realize most of this show is made up as they are only 40 mi from me and we all hear and see them come to the Portillos in DeKalb selling signs quite often). Between Thorton Beroth and Kyle Moore, they taught me a lot of what I know at various gas meets in the 80s and 90s. THEY were the REAL pickers in my mind. Will be visiting Thorton at his home this summer in Pilot Mountain, NC. Rob

Been several conversations on that episode and the way that Thornton let them talk him out of the high priced fantasy Firestone sign!

Kevin, I didn't want to comment on the Firestone Fantasy which I also thought as that is the way "firestorms" seem to start on here. Harley Davidson and Firestone tires on that did not seem to add up to my son and I watching it here in the garage but we are no experts on motorcycles. Thanks for the info on the show being on before, sorry for posting about it again. Rob

It was discussed at some length in the past and you'll have to look back in the old posts for it.

Thanks Kevin...Makes me smile on the inside knowing they paid too much for a fantasy piece.
