Anyone ever seen this Embossed Barnsdall Oil Bottle? You can see it's embossed on the bottle to the right….Thanks!

Owen, nice collection of "sample" bottles!!...

If I remember correctly? I've seen a couple embossed sample bottles and thought to myself, now that may be something to collect... But with a sieve for a brain, the idea was gone before I could act upon it... LOL

I can't tell you what brand they were, but I'm sure they were not Barnsdall.... That is the only thing I can be sure of at this point.... LOL

You may be talking about the Valvoline bottles i got last year, i'm starting to get a pretty good collection myself. LOL They seem to be scarce in any brand. Owen

Barnsdall bottles are fairly rare but obtainable in collector's circles. They are embossed with the square B, paper label is often in poor condition. Like most items, 20 years ago they were available not so much today.

I think there were several recently in an Illinois auction.


Collect small Oklahoma Oil Co.'s 1920's-1940's. Barnsdall, Cushing, Eason, Marland, etc.
