A friend of mine and I, years ago ( about 15 or so...),got the idea of keeping a record of all the derelict, run down tired looking musclecars that we found but were invariably never for sale, "I'm gunna fix her up one day" or "get off mah property" were typical replies from the owners (and those were the nice folks!!) We started a thing called
"Cars in Barns" website.... the thing got HUGE and was eventually sold to another party but is still running today (google it) ANYWAYS fast forward to today and I can see the same type of thing happening with the petrolium stuff, likely not with the same volume/success, but...

Here is a place I finally stopped at again today, my last visit was 15 years or more ago and it is still all there (pics of only a small portion) well the old fella past on and has left it all to a relative whom I am trying to get in touch with, hopefully with different results than the last time ..... man does buckshot ever smart (lol)

Enjoy.........

Good luck getting anything out of Bill Johnsons place. His wife lives next door. Her son lives at the location of your pictures. Bill had a lot of gas stuff, lots of rare Canadian globes, signs and pumps. Bill was a gentleman and if you knew him you could do some bartering.Since Carols son moved in that house the whole place has turned to shambles, totally unkept, the barn has fallen down, many rare signs came down with the barn.
I was in the house and barn about 7 years ago, upstairs Bill used to have closets filled with lenses, last I was in there the kids were playing in the only room left with anything, closet had lenses but mostly broken ones, cylinders for 20 gallon pumps broken,a shame to see most of everything destroyed.
I was lucky enough to pick up about a dozen globes from there. You can't deal with Carol, no matter what you offer its never enough. Ted

Well Ted, I hope you are wrong. Its is a shame that this stuff is slowly just being lost to the hobby as a whole.I dont think anyone would disagree that it is worth the effort to save these things.
Maybe the lady was difficult with you, hopefully she mellowed or is more receptive to a different approach, doesnt hurt to try!
Thanks to the guys who offered encouragement -maxy426

I never knew Bill Johnson, but i do know people from Burford who knew him ..
Apparently trying to buy any of the stuff that his step son has..... always results in a Big No.!

His name is Kent Sinclair.
I believe he runs a trucking company.

Good Luck.
