I talked to the organizer yesterday. Yes it is only Sunday the 19th and he said that buyers could arrive at 8:00 am. The entire conversation was very casual. He said he had about 30 calls from guys setting up to sell. I asked, and he did say that there is NOT going to be any kind of auction. Just sellers.

I to would love some kind of preview of items that may be there.

Thanks for the info.

I plan to be there, and I think "there" is here this year:
Jerry Keller 9790 memorial HWY Ottawa lake mi 49267

Cheese's place is an hour north and always a good visit with opportunities there to view/buy/trade/sell.

Since the show has changed hands and location, it is probably hard to predict how big it will be this first year. I sincerely hope that enthusiasts and vendors will attend and support the move. Buyers depend on sellers and sellers depend on buyers for a successful show. If you don't support your regional swap meet, you don't have a right to complain that all the good events are too far away.

I will not be attending MIGAS this year because I can't come up with a trailer.

For anyone attending MIGAS and has a little extra time. I believe I'm around 30 miles north of where the shows going to be. I'm 7 miles west of US 23 on US12 to Saline then 2 miles out of town.

Most of you know I collected only Texaco/Havoline.

A few of the items I have left are

2 sets of 21" Tall porcelain letters spelling out TEXACO Very Nice condtion
2 sets of 21" Tall plastic letters spelling out TEXACO NOS condition, one set with cardboard sleeves. One set the letter X there's a broken piece of it, but other wise in excellent shape.
A few common globes, a few common cans, flags, marine china, 5 gallon bulk cans, measuring cans for gasoline, uniforms, hats, few glass oile bottles, several Caltex pieces etc... Too much to list here.

I don't want to step on this thread, anyone interested in learning more of what I have left, can email me at dougma@wwnet.net

Thanks Doug

Guys I'm getting a ton of emails. I'll try my best to answer them. I'm looking for people going to MIGAS. If you're not please write after the show.

One more thing, and I hope I don't offend anyone. My collection is only for sale to other collectors not pickers.

So my first show is under my belt. I have to admit I was hoping for more but it was still a GREAT time and will definitely be back next year!! And as Canadiandiesel said, great venue!!!
Thanks very much to Jerry for hosting!!! Great peice of property and his personal collection was a joy to see!!
Got to meet and say hello to both Jim Tindera (JimT) and Noah (gassignguy). It was very nice to finally say hello face to face guys!! Look forward to next time!!
Also had some very good conversations with some guys who were not Oldgas people. I was shocked in that when I asked, they had never even heard of the site. Crazy!!
I was really hoping to run into a Sunoco sign of some kind. But maybe next time.

I did make one BIG rookie mistake. As soon as I walked in a guy had a Tokheim 39 tall add glass nozzle side side panel that I wanted. $50. I told him let me walk around I'll be back in a bit. Well you can probably guess the rest!! It was gone!! frown

Can't wait till my next show!! Columbus!!!

Todays Haul!
The Veedol, Sunoco bank and red capped oiler were from MiGas. Picked up the rest hitting some antique shops on the way home.

Gerard, Steve was looking at a Tokheim 39 tall side panel. You bought Tokheim 39 short panels.

Thanks to Jerry for hosting us all. I really liked the great location and hey, it was only a little over an hour drive for me so that was great too! :)There was ample parking and it was really easy to find. I hope other vendors will make it a point to come next year as I think it has all the ingredients to be a super show in coming years.
I didn't get to meet Steve, but I did meet Noah and got a sign from him. I was wearing my big red Pegasus T-shirt, so you may have saw me walking around.
Hope to see you all there next year!

I had a good time too. I want to thank Jerry K. for saving this show. Thank goodness there was nice weather. Its even closer to me now! I like that its a fast show and on Sunday. The show was a little smaller this year, but I can see where it has the potential to grow. Nice talking to Steve C. and his wife. Steve-you should have bought that thermo! I was kinda glad when you passed. lol

Jim,
LMAO!! So I take it you are the new owner of a vintage Sunoco thermometer??
I've got this stingy attitude at the moment when it comes to spending money on some of this stuff. Losing that tin sign at $565 bucks last week (from my "hobby isn't fun sometimes" posting) kinda dented my opinion as to what these items are really worth to me. I really liked the thermometer at $100. For me at the time I just wasn't feeling it higher. Not that it isn't worth it. I mean hell, when will I see another right? Probably never.

Great to meet you and your wife also!!

Dino,
I went fully intending to take pics of everything. But once there I just got caught up in it and talking with people and never took any. Sorry. I hope someone did though.
