I should clarify that my Mobilheat Stove Oil globe does have a closed A....when I made the above statement that S-V never produced an original with a closed A I should have said in regards to the readily available globes like the Mobilgas and the Mobilgas Specials.

Strange that the pump plates have the closed "A" and the globes use the open "A".


Wanted: Nebraska advertising items Cushman, Dempster, Archer oil etc.

That too depends on the particular pump plate Scott...some of the Magnolia territory plates are made both ways, with the open or closed A, while all the wide blue border plates had the closed A. Most people don't notice the variations in the Magnolia pump plates unless you are a Mobil collector.
But I agree, I have always thought it was weird that they never changed the globe font to match the plates, at least in the east coast territories.

Got this in April, wasn't sure if it was the real deal. Thanks to Scott he found a pic with the rack being used. I only have the one side but it sure works great to display some of my cans.
