Wonder why the quotation marks are different? Is that the way quotation marks are supposed to be used? I thouht both sides had the pointed end down.

I find that odd also Jaytee even though I'm sure these are 100% original signs. Standard Oil probably saved a little money and just used the same stencil for both quotation marks. That of course is just a guess. Love these signs smile!!! Still strange why they did this with the milkglass insert version on the other style of sign though.

That's the proper way to make quotation marks. That's how, I learned to make them in grade school. Computer fonts changed all that...for simplicity sake opening quotation marks and closing quotation marks were made to look the same.

I started school at the age of 4 in 1971.

Yah I guess I should of paid more attention in school instead of building sprint cars with the old man and installing clutches and reeds in my motorcycles....when I was 7 smile. Back to the subject at hand, Great Standard sign by all means. Hope I spelled all that with ample correctness.
