I picked these up with some other stuff recently. The story was that these were out the parking lot of an old station, they sat on either side of the pump (only one on the island) and lit the area. Seems reasonable, as I have the pump and it seems to be painted with the same color/type of red paint. (looks the same age, same kind of drips, etc)

They look cool, but I was hoping some of you guys would have info. I am not sure how old these are. The name says Crouse-Hinds Co. out of NY.

Thoughts? Info? Value?

I found Crouse on the net but their new stuff looks nothing like the old stuff. (like these)
Those white ones from the Mobil station were a lot like mine. I guess these might be older than I thought.
Not sure if I'll sell them or maybe use them in my son's gas station bedroom. (with different bulbs, they are 300w now... might be a bit much for the boys room!)

Crouse Hinds is still in business in Syracuse , N.Y. about 25 miles away from me. They have been in business here for probably 80 - 100 yrs. Still make some of their old designs.

Crouse-Hinds is probably the worlds largest manufacturer of explosion proof electrical fittings. These lights were a small part of their operation.
one of the threads shows a set of these lights still in the box, marked Mobil. One of my boulivard signs is a Mobil with a date of 1965 on it. It has the same style light on each side mounted below the sign shinning at an upward angle, complete with gaskets and lenses. The original Mobil pole looks like a tappered trapazoid, really strange looking. There are two 1 inch hubs welded into the pole about 16 inches below the sign for the pipe to screw into.
I don't know who else may have used this style, but Mobil oil did in 1965. Norm.

My guess would be the same as Norms. That the light where used to light a sign buy the angle of them.
