Let's keep in mind that the root cause of this problems is the person making unmarked reproduction signs. In this case, the sign maker was Vic's 66. You can scream all day long about the guys on eBay doing this one by one, but if you choke the supply source, you will slow this problem down faster. I am calling Vic's 66 out on this issue. You sale this sign on your web-site with no permanent manner marking to show it is a reproduction item, and the end result is the sign gets passed off weeks later as an original sign. You are a member of this community and a fellow collector. Be a stand up man and change the way you do business. Your business is killing our hobby and the long term investments into the hobby some of us have made. Your signs have a place in the market for some new collectors that can't invest the funds for original signs but they should have some sort of permanent marking to prevents the scam seen in this thread.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Anyone manufacturing reproductions should UNDOUBTEDLY be marking the pieces with dates of production and the word "REPRODUCTION" clearly and permenantly stated on the piece!!! To manufacture pieces without doing so is only opening up the opportunity for fraud. Not to mention the damage it does to the hobby not only today, but certainly down stream!!
