Does anybody make the porcelain light bulb sockets with a 1/2" MALE thread? I've got some of the ones that have the female threaded adaptor but the Bowser I'm working on takes male end ones. Even if I make a super close nipple to use the female sockets the base of those sockets are just enough longer that I think the bulbs will stick out too far and hit the ad glass. All I can find at the regular places are the female ones but I haven't called all of them.....figure somebody here ought o know. Thanks....GB

I checked Grainger, no luck. I can use the new porcelain socket and mount it to the old male base but I would rather just find the complete one that would fit. The screws are larger on the new ones I got and I'm not sure they will clear when you try to screw it down on the old male fitting. You can overhaul the old ones if the porcelain isn't broke but I have several that are. Just figured there was someone that had the male one.....

Thanks Travis. I made the new porcelain work on the original base so I guess that's the way to go. Guess it really doesn't matter as long as I can get a new socket on there. I'll just order a few extra of the female ones and use the parts on the ones that need the males rebuilt.....GB.

Leviton doesn't make the socket with the male threads. If there is anyone who does, I can't find it. But, I was in my local electrical supply today after some other stuff and he had these sockets that are the exact replacements for all of the sockets on these pumps, just minus the pipe fitting. The have new wires already on them and will fit the bases with either style pipe thread The only slight caveat is that the screws were just a couple of threads too long in the fittings I was working on but I just hit them on the belt sander and took a few threads off and they pulled down tight. Unless the whole socket is gone, these are the cheapest way to go and a lot easier to wire. Most pumps i get just have the porelain broke but the bases are usually there. If anybody needs some of these I have a wholesale account here and can get them for you at a good price (I'm not turning this in to a for sale thread, just offering to help out)....There, that's the long...and the short of it...GB
