Bay Petrolem-Demver CO. Bay was founded in McPherson Kansas in 1935 ,although little is known about the early history By the mid 1950s, the operation shifted to Denver. Just a liitle brife history that I read In Giude To Gasoline Logos by Wayne Henderson & Scott Benjamin. Still a good find , Don't see much Bay stuff around.

As stated, Bay was founded in 1935 by Charles U. Bay and Bud Robineau (who later founded Frontier). The company operated a refinery at McPherson, KS and offices were set up in Denver. In the 1950s Bay Petroleum began buying up southern independents including Gulf Coast (New Orleans) and Citizens/Speed (Tallahassee) and expanded the Bay brand into the Gulf coast region. The company merged with Tenneco, and some of the infrastructure served to establish the Tenneco brand in 1961. Tenneco replaced the Bay name in much of the Rocky Mountain market, in the south Tenneco was used on company stations, Bay at jobber and dealer locations. Tifton, GA based Dixie Oil operated a number of stations under the Bay brand, and when Tenneco abandoned much of its marketing in the late 1980s Dixie kept the Bay brand alive, at least into the 1990s, possibly even after 2000. There are no reports of active, supported Bay stations today, although some signs remain in use in Georgia and Florida as an abandoned brand.
