I have a pump that I picked up, but do not know exactly how the inside filler tube went. I have a picture of the tube and part, but do not know how it went together. The other question is about the gas to car or tank metal assembly on the side. Does anyone have a picture of a restored one or original so that I can see what it is supposed to say or do?

Thanks

Craig--Not sure on your parts but there would have been a flat lever on the front of the pump that operated a valve inside, and this allowed the gasoline to either travel down the hose or back to storage. The little arrow was connected with linkage and indicated the valves position. Often this was disconnected on many pumps that I have found and sometimes the valve was eliminated. Probably from problems many years ago?
Don't have any pics tho--sorry!

So the fill cap then goes on the 1" pipe, because it the little piece inside the cap does not go inside the 1" pipe and too big for the other pipe. Great help everyone, including the picture graphics from DB.
THANKS

On most G&B's there was an alum. sleeve that slid over the 1" Fill pipe to deflect the in-coming fuel to bottom of cylinder. The Fill Cap cast piece has set screws to hold the alum. sleeve up & off bottom.

Craig, MAYBE this will explain it BETTER!
Your CAP is #29 & Fill Pipe is #27, #28 is the Overflow pipe. I don't see the Alum. Sleeve in this drawing of the T-179.
Page 2 of text explains the upper pipes.
