Working on this Hayes pump. I could not find much for photos on the internet that showed the other sides. Questions are: 1. Up top where the shutoff comes out looks to be a home made cut. The nice factory U shape has nothing coming out. 2. The hole for the handle is also a rough square, does not look factory. 3. Not sure what the round hole is above the handle with the cast ring around it. 4. What do I need to do to make this pump correct? Other than finding a cylinder and access door of course. Thanks for any help you can give me. Todd. Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.us

1. You are correct on the shut off valve, mine comes out of the bottom casting on the cylinder. I have seen them come out of the side also. 2 & 3. The pump handle has been cut out and installed there, should be where the cast ring is. Alot of them used a small rotary pump. 4. Cylinder, access door, cylinder rods, fill tube and electrical

IF there isn't a hole in the Flat Casting under the cyl casting, it would be for Elect conduit to top to light globe.

Sounds good. Thanks for your input guys! It makes sense about the electrical conduit, there is no hole in the casting.
I guess I could move the cast ring down to where the pump handle is? Not sure I could ever move the handle up? Only pics I could find had the handle in the lower position.

ALL HAYES pumps I've seen had a 3/4" Pipe for a handle, not a cast as yours has. Here is my 15gal HAYES SENIOR w/ etched cyl. 2nd pic is a HAYES Nozzle.

DB, do you have any extra nozzels? Not sure what you mean by the handle? The hayes for sale looks like mine but has the shutoff and handle in the front. Guess they could put them anywhere.

I wonder if they put a different pump on it at sometime? That would explain moving the handle to a lower position.
