I am down to trying to dissassemble the two stainless garnish strips on the face's of the front and rear panels.

Just how does one do this without damaging the strips?

These are on the 1938-1945??? Gilbarco Gas Pumps.

Thank you.

Pluck

If you are referring to the stainless ribbed trim on the doors of Gilbarco 96 pumps. The stainless trim is snaps on top of a steel strips that are bolted to the door. Gently pry the stainless trim off and then you will be able to remove the steel strips by removing the nuts and bolts.

David,

Looks like it is easier said than done.

Do I pry from the top or the bottom?

I sure do not want to wreck even one of these.

Thanks.

Before Prying off, You could also use an eye dropper to apply Pool Grade Muriatic Acid [DO NOT USE FOR ALUM/POT METAL] to the nut on back side, it'll eat the rust. Use Household Baking Soda mixed w/ water to Neutralize. Torch dry & add penetrating oil, give nut a slight tweaking for oil to work.
