There is a photo of an early Gilmore station on ebay named the ANNANDALE & ROCKDALE SERVICE STATION, date would be 1923-24... Item number: 251305464041 http://www.ebay.com/itm/EARLY-1920s-ANNA...=item3a82f910e9Was wondering if there was once a road named Annandale, possibly in the area where Figueroa is? The Annandale community is in this area and Rockdale Ave looks to run into Figueroa. I document Gilmore stations and would like to add an exact address to my data.

Gilmore I had my best luck when I decided to contact the Southern California Automobile club . Sadly the archivists at UCLA had what was needed , but didn't want to respond to my requests . I can Put you in touch with a gentleman who was the technical producer for the movie , The Deuce of Spades . Now he actually seems to know people who can do archival work there . Ed Shaver
see ya on the road folks !

Thanks for the advice, Ed. I did some more research myself and I figured out where it was located.

It is a great looking image. Looking at it a little more closely, I see 2 Aristo (Union Oil of California)signs, as well as the Firestone and Diamond Tires.
