My new addition, 98" x 98" plastic sign ( one side)retrieved from the gas station where it once hung, not the one in the picture but a little north of this one. That is a 72" Texaco beside it. The 46 Dodge hauled it home.

It all looks cool; the car, the truck, the garage and the signs. Are you going to light it up? Fred

I am the guy with all the history of everything, as soon as I saw something I knew nothing about, I would research it.
So...I have never heard of 66 Phillips. Until you posted this sign, I would have assumed it was a repro.
Fill us newbes in.

It was a popular Fuel source in the 60's and 70's in Western Canada. In my home town it was the main bulk station as well as several service stations. They had gas, diesel, lubricants etc. Delivered bulk to farming and ranching community as well as the resource industry. Pretty much the same as what all the fuel companies were doing in the day. The fella that told me that this sign was still sitting in the basement of an old 66 gas station was the bulk dealer from about 1965. I am going to give him a call and get some more history of Pacific 66 and their term. I will report back with more in depth history and hopefully some pictures. Another score from this lead was finding the tanker truck from 60's. The tank is nice the cab of the truck is gone but it looks like it was on a 54 Chevrolet. More on that when I pull it out of it's resting place. B

Brian: I like the Pacific 66 sign you have hanging on the wall and the trucks. The Chevy is a truck, isn't it? What year? How about a picture of it too. Did the company have smaller light-up signs? Would like to have one if they did. Thanks...

Phillips 66 was doing business as Pacific 66 in Canada. Here's a sign I have and a few oil cans.

From Wikipedia: "Phillips also had gasoline stations in Canada's western provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan under the name Pacific 66 until the late 1970s." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phillips_66
