Does anyone know where I can purchase the reproduction ripple gill bodies and price? I need it to hold the smaller size lenses which I believe is 13 1/4"

You can get them from Petroleum Artifacts in Tulsa. They're $225.00.

You used to could, Petro Artifacts hasn't had them for over two years. He has one white left that he wants $600 for. Call him if you want one that bad.

Dang... I had been looking at their catalog at them just the other day. Oh well...

An original went for just under a grand on ebay recently.

Brandon:

My understanding is the Ripples on an original are much crisper and more detailed. The repro's are softer and not as distinct.

I have a repro done in yellow with a set of 'gold-shield' Imperial lenses in it. The repros look good to me - especially with originals going for a grand or more. ;D

Later . . .

Jim

As was stated earlier, the ripples are much smoother on the repros, the repros have a mold line at the top of the body running from the front to the back of the body. Originals do not have this line. The colors also appear to be brighter than originals. Original colors were baked on the body. I also think the bases are thicker glass than originals. I used to have a couple of repros
but don't have them any more so can't compare for any other differences.
