Three hours into the auction and it's already up to $425.00.

Yikes. These prices being paid by all the new "Enthusiasts" is insane.

"Enthusiast" maybe? Maybe someone looking to buy a sign they intend to resell as old and original and found in Grampas boatyard!

this seller states 80's, next one might not.. ebay # 251308438118 The seller is a great guy and a member here. Description is accurate and is not deceiving anyone (except maybe the inexperienced). The top of the flag pole is not centered in the I of Lubricants, and the name SUZANNE on the back of small boat is not legable (2 known issues of reproductions).

Ron--I think we all agree that the ad is correct and the deficiencies in the sign are obvious! Its the fact that these unmarked reproductions were ever produced in the first place that's bothersome! This same counterfeit version of a great sign has been offered many times on ebay as "the real thing"! It has greatly affected the retail value of one of the greatest advertising signs ever produced and its a shame it ever happened with this sign and any others that are reproduced without being marked! The next seller of this very sign may not be so honest as the current seller! Its only "one" unmarked reproduction, but its a small part of a very big problem! A problem that won't go away but can be controlled by marking these things! I'm glad to see that the seller is so honest with his listing, but somewhere in the future---this sign will be a problem for someone!

Description is accurate and is not deceiving anyone I'm sure the lister is a great guy and all, but I dont truly agree with this statement or the listing. I don't see the word "reproduction" anywhere in the listing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this sign is not a piece of Texaco advertising. It is a reproduction of an original piece of Texaco advertising and it should be stated as such. Just stating that it was made in the 80's isn't enough for me. Many people have no idea as to the date of this graphic and will be thinking that it is an original sign from the 80's.
Steve Coppens Always interested in Sunoco items! Really want a Sunoco National pump ad glass!!
