My Standard Oil light pole had four layers of paint on it when stripped; green red, grey and white. The porcelain light shade is red. My visible pump is 1926 G&B and is painted Standard Oil red and badged as Red Crown. What color is recommended for the light pole?

White, reflects sun rays. Red will fade very quickly outdoors. White also goes with any other color.

If you use cheap enamel red will turn pink in a few years. Use base coat clear coat, Red would be my choice !JMO

White. But the only drawback to white is that it shows rust stains and bleed through really bad.
