Hello all!

I have some lenses with most of the paint gone and want to know if I should repaint them, or leave them be. You can still read some of it, but it is very rough. Any info would help. I can post pictures in a few.

Thanks
Noah

As a general rule I would say not to. but, I think there are exceptions. I have seen some Crown and Shell Globes that have been done and look nice. But, the question becomes real vs. resotration.

What are they and how rare are they?
In My Opinion,
If they aren't rare and your not too deep into them, go for it. Those are pretty far gone. Learn a new skill for this hobby.

If you have the skill needed ,do it. I would think they would be worth more , plus you can enjoy them displayed with the lettering on them. I think they are just " head scratchers"
the way they are. Can't make out what they say.
Heck , even if you don't have the skills , these would be good to develop them.

Repainting these lenses will do nothing for their value. They are too far gone and have no graphic interest. If you do repaint it will be for your own enjoyment.

Do you know what brand they were originally, as its hard to tell from the photo?
